I Had A Birthday!

We had cheesecake and ice cream, and I dressed Doug up as a ghost because I'm his mom, and I can.

Jared's Birthday

Jared celebrated a birthday!

He and I went shopping to get him a birthday present.  I can't believe how tall he is getting!

Nathan picked out a lovely flower cake for our young man. Ha!

I sure do love this young man.  He's a lot like me which causes fireworks at times, but he's responsible, hard-working and an all-around good person.

A short walk down memory lane...

My Baby Turns 7

How did such a thing happen?

It seems that just yesterday this little one came into our lives.

We made her a yellow cake with rainbow sprinkle frosting, as requested.

She got a new scooter from Grandpa and Grandma Carter.

She was very excited to ride it to school.

For over a year, Clara has been asking for an orange ukulele. She first saw one while we were buying Jared new strings for his guitar.  I figured she was too young last year and would forget about it, but not so!  She was patient and was so excited to get it for her birthday this year.

Jared turns 16!!

WHAT?!??!?

How did this happened? My baby boy is 16 years old which means that he can legally drive, legally date… And still be my baby boy.

For his birthday, we ate dinner at Olive Garden and went to see Despicable Me 3.  He wanted to see Spiderman, but changed his mind when he read reviews because his sisters we're going to be accompanying us. So proud of him and the amazing young man he is!

Isaac turns 14

So this kid turned 14 yesterday!  We celebrated by sending him to school!! :)

After school, we took the whole family to see Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and followed it up with dinner at Mi Ranchito. I think he enjoyed wearing the giant sombrero and having us sing to him.

He got a new bike too!

Amelia turns 11

We had a birthday at our house.  Amelia turned 11.  Our girl wanted a sewing machine for her birthday, so that's what she ended up getting.  She also received sewing accessories and packs to make clothes for her American Girl Doll.

Later, Grandma and Grandpa came over and gave her an intense coloring book and new colored pencils.

Jared turns 15

My biggest child turned 15 yesterday, and he is finally taller than me.  Not sure how I'm feeling about that.

This morning Nathan took him to the DMV to get his learner's permit.  Crazy stuff!

Isaac turns 13

Isaac turned 13!  We celebrated the day before since his birthday was a Sunday this year and it was also Mother's Day.

We took the boys and Pa and went to see Captain America: Civil War and then we went and got him a balance board.

He got the hang of it really quickly.

Grandma and Grandpa Carter got him a book he had been wanting.

Nathan had to try it out as well.

Of course we had cake and ice cream.

Love this kid!

Amelia turns 10 years old

Yesterday, our Amelia turned 10 years old.  We started her birthday by opening presents.  She received a new coat and snow bibs and a couple of Lego Friends sets.

She wanted to start her birthday by going to breakfast with Nathan and I, so we got ready and took her to +Kneaders.  She enjoyed hot chocolate and pancakes.

Our Amelia may have been born on the shortest daylight day of the year, but she fills our lives with light and happiness. Happy 10th to this wonderful young lady!!

Clara's 5th Birthday

Today is Clara's 5th Birthday!

Last night we celebrated her birthday with family, cake and ice cream.  She opened her presents from Grandma and Grandpa Carter.  New shoes (she picked them out herself), an Ariel Barbie and a bag of only pink and red Starbursts.

This morning, Nathan and I took her to Kneaders to have french toast for breakfast.  She also had a sugar cookie and chocolate milk.

She even got a smile out of Nathan!

I LOVE this little girl!!
