Holidays 2017

I didn't take a lot of pictures from our holidays this year, but we did have a Merry Christmas and a fantastic time at the cabin ringing in the new year.

Christmas Eve started with us going out to dinner and then hanging out at home for a while.  The kids had a good time rough-housing with Nathan.

At one point there were feats of strength in which Nathan did push-ups with people on his back and then he back squatted the boys.

It wouldn't be Christmas Eve without a trip to Shane and Roni's house, where the kids opened new pajamas.

As we were driving home, snow was falling and Nathan received a text that he would be needed at work the next morning to clear walks and roads.  He had to be there at 6 am, so we told the kids they would have to wait for Christmas until Dad got home.  They were good sports about it.

Nathan got home around 9 am, and we started Christmas.  I am truly awful at capturing these moments adequately.

A few days before New Years, we packed up the truck and the snowmobiles and headed to the cabin.

I had a picture of Jared sleeping in the truck on the way up to the cabin, but I'm not sure what happened to it...

Welcome, 2018!!

Easter 2016

This past Saturday, I let the kids color Easter eggs.  It's quite nice that they are old enough to do this pretty unassisted.

Jared was gone helping Pa work on his house, and Amelia and I were getting ready to leave for General Women's Conference, so unfortunately Jared wasn't able to participate.

The next day, after attending church, we headed over to Grandma Carter's house for the Annual Easter Party.  After eating dinner and watching a movie about Easter, Grandma bore her testimony of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

Then we bashed Easter eggs.  Cole's egg reigned victorious this year.

Then it was outside for the egg hunt.

The kids pulled in quite the haul!  We missed most of Eric's family and Jennie, who weren't able to make it this year.

Clara got some new sunglasses and was very excited to wear them like Nathan.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day 2015

We had a great Christmas at our house.  On Christmas Eve we did our normal tradition and saw a movie - the new Star Wars one and then ate a late lunch at Texas Roadhouse.  In the evening, we went over to Shane and Roni's house to hang out for a while.

I made Nathan take silly selfies with me.  Don't we look so surprised!

Crazy eyes!

Roni joined in with a duck face.

I took a picture of Nathan eating dip.

Shane roasted tomatoes, chilies and onions and made us an awesome salsa and 7-layer dip.

I managed to only get a picture of the girls although the boys were there too...

Onto Christmas Day!

Santa brought the girls a puppy!

They loved him immediately.  His name is Charles Alexis Harwood and he is a Morkie (Maltese/Yorkie mix).

Santa brought the boys an Xbox One.  They screamed like girls when they opened the present.

Such happy faces!

A couple of picture of later that day. Clara asked me if it was a dream that she got a puppy. I assured her that this was real life. So cute!

Hope you Christmas was a good one!

Carter Christmas Party 2015

Last night we had our annual Carter Christmas party.  The power went out about 2 hours in to our party so pictures may not be as clear since we were dealing with less light than normal.

Aunt Jennie made the kids each their own fleece blanket.  They loved them and they were each perfect for the kids.

After some good food and a few games and the gift exchange, the kids acted out the nativity.  This year, King Herod threatened the wisemen with an assault rifle.  I don't remember that being part of the bible story, but it made for a good laugh.

Our little "angel" Clara

This year Isaac was a sheep, Jared was a cow and the girls were both very pretty angels.

The whole gang!
