Lagoon 2014 - a photo gallery of our day

Every year my mom's work has a Lagoon Day.  We love it!  This past Saturday, after I ran the Mt Nebo Half, we headed to Lagoon.

Because I was a little tired, I spent the majority of the day with Clara on the kiddie rides.  That is why the majority of my pictures are of her.  Thanks to Roni for some of these pictures.

Labor Day Weekend Camping at Granite Flats Campground

Over Labor Day weekend, we went camping at Granite Flats Campground up American Fork Canyon with Shane and Roni's family.  We had a great time!

There was fishing at Silver Lake.

Clara mostly caught moss.

 

I did not fish, I was in charge of baiting the hooks, repeatedly.

Eventually, Rissa caught the only fish.

There was lots of hanging out at camp and talking, and lots of cousins playing in the woods.

The last day, we went to Tibblefork Reservoir and fished, but were unsuccessful at catching anything.  The kids did enjoy kayaking though.

We had a great weekend.  Thanks to Roni for some of these pictures!  I'll post tomorrow about our emergency trip down the canyon to get some stitches, but here's a sneak peak:

Temple to Temple 5K #T2Trun

On July 24, a few of us decided to run/walk the Temple to Temple 5K in Provo, Utah.  Bright and early, we got up, got ready, and headed to the Provo Temple for the start of the run.

Did I get a picture of the finish line?  No, why would I do that????  I am a little bummed that there is no photo evidence of the finish line.  Oh well.

The Facebook page for the event says that between 10,000-12,000 people participated this year! Wowza, that is a ton.  I may have to participate in this run every year.

A Saturday at Lagoon

This past Saturday, we spent all day at Lagoon with my whole family.  We had a great time.    Both of my parents were able to come and they took Clara for me while I went and rode rides with the older kids.

We had such a good time!  Nathan and I felt a little old because we kept getting a little sick to our stomachs on some of the rides.

Next time I go to Lagoon however, I am going to remember to bring:

1. Cheap plastic ponchos from the $1 store.  Some of the rides closed when it started to rain, but a lot did not and the lines were super short.
2. Jackets (hoodies are preferable) for everyone, just leave them in the car in case we want them.  It got a little chilly after the rain, plus we were a little damp.
3. Water bottles, they can be refilled at the drinking fountains.
4. Closed-toe shoes and socks for everyone.  Some of the rides will not allow open-toed shoes.  We learned this one the hard way a couple years ago.
5. Have the kids bring some of their own money to spend on stuff they want (carnival games, treats).
