Jared's Birthday

Jared celebrated a birthday!

He and I went shopping to get him a birthday present.  I can't believe how tall he is getting!

Nathan picked out a lovely flower cake for our young man. Ha!

I sure do love this young man.  He's a lot like me which causes fireworks at times, but he's responsible, hard-working and an all-around good person.

Jared and Friends Play the Guitar

Jared and two friends, Hunter and Tyrel, played Behold the Great Redeemer Die for a musical number for Sacrament meeting yesterday.  It was fun to have the boys in my home practicing.  I wish I had recorded them practicing, but I only got one of Jared playing his part.

Some 2017 Randomness

In October, Jared's phone broke.  Aunt Tiff had a phone he could use, so she mailed it to him.  She didn't want it to break so she placed it inside this hot pink Hello Kitty bag.  We told Jared he had to use it.

In early November, Isaac's football team won their Championship game.  We were very proud of Isaac and his team!

We noticed on December 30, 2017 that Isaac was officially taller than me.

In September 2017, my dad, along with the help of my brothers, shot his once-in-a-lifetime elk.

In early September 2017, Jared started his first job at Arctic Circle as a cook!

In October 2017, Nathan started a new job. He looks so handsome all dressed up for interviews!

We were lucky enough to be invited to a pre-season tailgate party at BYU and were filmed for a promotional video.  Here are a couple of still shots from the video.

On May 26, 2017, the kids and I went with Grandma Carter to put flowers on a few graves.  Here we are at the American Fork Cemetary putting flowers on my Grandma and Grandpa Brown's graves.

First Day of School 2017-2018

Today is the first day of school for the kids.

Clara was very excited and cried because we couldn't leave as soon as she woke up!  Got the boys out the door with Logan, and then Nathan and I took the girls to drop them off.

So weird but awesome to have all my babies in full-time school.

Jared turns 16!!

WHAT?!??!?

How did this happened? My baby boy is 16 years old which means that he can legally drive, legally date… And still be my baby boy.

For his birthday, we ate dinner at Olive Garden and went to see Despicable Me 3.  He wanted to see Spiderman, but changed his mind when he read reviews because his sisters we're going to be accompanying us. So proud of him and the amazing young man he is!

Just another Carter Family Dinner

Most of the time we get together, eat dinner, chat and go home.  This particular day, however, things went a little differently.

First, it started with a limb contest.

Davis was the limbo winner!

Then things took a turn and we began "The Raw Egg Challenge"

Cole struggled to keep his egg down.

Same with Tyson.

Nathan tried to cheat by dumping his egg down his shirt.

Shane couldn't quite get the job done.  Somehow I missed getting a video of Kevin.

I went last and showed them how it was done!  ✅ 😂 

Jared turns 15

My biggest child turned 15 yesterday, and he is finally taller than me.  Not sure how I'm feeling about that.

This morning Nathan took him to the DMV to get his learner's permit.  Crazy stuff!
