for our youth trek, we wanted each person to have a bracelet to remind them of the experience. because para cord bracelets are really cool right now, we decided to have each youth make one.
we turned the construction of the bracelets over to each "family" unit. first, each family was assigned a color. our colors include, purple (seen below), blue, green, orange, yellow, red and the committee is pink.
we ordered the para cord online along with a couple complementary colors - gray, black and white.
each family was given their color and a complimentary color of their choice with enough buckles to complete the bracelets. we told them to google cobra weave paracord bracelet for instructions and advised them to get their family together one evening and make bracelets. then we asked for them to put each bracelet in a sack with the owner's name on it and return all the bracelets to us.
debbie had these little metal pendents made for us. they have our trek logo engraved on them. they only came with one hole, so debbie punched a second hole in them for us.
**Update - The pendents were made by Outback Engraving, you can contact them by calling 801-592-9499.

then we got together to do some sewing!
we sewed a pendent onto each bracelet.
my nathan kept breaking his sewing needle. i only skewered my fingers two or three times. there may be a spot of blood on someone's bracelet.
kent and debbie sewing up a storm.
kent's a little secret sewer!
this is him telling me not to post these pictures on the internet...
it was a lot of work, but they turned out really great. i hope the kids like them and that they will wear them beyond trek and that when they look at them they remember the great experiences i know that we are going to have.

I've rambled long enough, why don't you ramble and tell me what's on your mind.
